Myriem Roussel comes from Rabat, Morocco and a day after Christmas this year, she will turn 48. She stared off her career with appearances in Carmen ('83) before becoming famous in France as well as worldwide for her performance in Hail Mary ('84). One of her parents was a teacher, and this involved travelling everywhere before finally coming to France and staying there.
Prior to her getting in front of the camera, she was actively involved in learning how to dance. It was by a pure chance that she got the role on Jean-Luc Godard's movie that needed girls who know how to dance. And she was picked. She appeared in 3 of Godard's productions at the beginning of her career and this opened the doors for her but as soon as she stopped her collaboration with him, mainly TV shows appearances were offered to her.
The last movie she made was 9 years ago - Ombilical. Her best times was for a decade and a half in the last 20 years of the last century. Myriem Roussel currently lives in Paris, France.
