Karrine Steffans was born on August 24, 1978 in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. She is a former hip hop music video performer and actress. Steffans is the author of Confessions of a Video Vixen (ISBN 0-06-084242-3), her 2005 memoir about her life in the hip hop world, which was controversial for its descriptions of her sexual liaisons with numerous major stars. The memoir describes a number of encounters in which she traded oral sex for access to prominent roles in rap music videos. Her encounters with rap stars led to her having been given the nickname Superhead.
Her heritage is multiracial. Her mother has Jamaican, Puerto Rican, and Danish heritage and her father is African American.
Karrine starred in a porn film with porn star Mr. Marcus in which she was credited as "Honey". The porn scene showed why she got the moniker of "Superhead". Steffans is seen on the film performing a very rapid form of oral sex to Mr. Marcus.
Steffans has also starred in A Man Apart opposite Vin Diesel and Larenz Tate.
