Born in Connecticut and raised in Georgia, Christy Carlson Romano's penchant for performance became evident when she was just a little girl. Her extroverted demeanor and willingness to stand in the spotlight led to a series of local auditions, with one of her first gigs being a stage production of Annie.
Christy made her professional debut in 1996, with a part opposite Edward Norton and Drew Barrymore in the Woody Allen musical Everyone Says I Love You, and followed that up with appearances in a steady string of forgettable efforts, such as 1997's Henry Fool and 1999's Goosed.
But Christy's luck changed in 1999, after she landed a starring role opposite fellow up-and-comer Shia LaBeouf on the Disney Channel's Even Stevens. She stayed with the program through the entirety of its run, and in the process became a bona fide star among younger viewers.
In 2002, Christy agreed to voice the title character in a Disney Channel animated series called Kim Possible, and she has since reprised the role in several direct-to-DVD follow-ups.
In 2007, Christy took the first steps toward fashioning a more adult-oriented career for herself, appearing in such films as Movin' In (2007). On the whole, there's little doubt that Christy possesses the requisite talent and charisma to succeed in the future.
